SE? Pyano is hardly copy/paste. It’s stupid complex.
Lots of production loops, free generation, and lots of processing lines, does not make for complex.
Have you seen my train base? We’ve been doing Py w/o bots.
Not as of yet, and yeah, I’ve done Py’s without bots as well, I tend to eschew bots in my games as well. Have a link?
Nice, a block style. ^.^
Logistics trains. Not LTN, vanilla circuit logistic trains. Consumers, providers, and lots of trains.
Long time no post. Was a bit busy with Stellaris during the Summer, but now I am back from that until they add some new Content DLC (Species and Story Packs do not count). And Factorio is also unlikely to happen to me again anytime soon.
I am not 100% sure yet what GT6 thing to work on next, but I am trying to stay at doing GT6 for a bit.
And now for Life Stuff that I did not talk about yet, yay:
A few months ago my Cat died, cancer dissolved most of her organs. I am not one who can articulate well about things like death, but I miss her.
Apart from playing Stellaris, I spent the majority of the Summer melting in Bed, so most of my activities were imaginary nature. I did come up with a bunch of random NPC bits though, so at least that time was not a total loss. Might start drawing things yet again, but the results of some of that wont be published until I add an In-World Hub Lobby Menu Area with a few NPCs to Mechaenetia, and you know how much i got distracted from that…
Got a new Inhaler for my Asthma, this time a once-a-day one that actually has a precise counting wheel of how many doses are left. Unlike the previous garbage ones, where i had to manually count the days, because it had a very ambiguous “0”-point. Boy I wonder why they did that, surely not profit or something from people throwing it away a few days early.
I also found out that the reason my throat is always gunked up with slime is a reaction to acid reflux.
Don’t you love it when you have so very minor symptoms that you think your entire life it is actually normal, but the moment they become worse for a day or two and you take something against it, you notice “wait a second, why is that other Issue also gone now?”, followed by looking up a few things and finding out “oh hey, that sleeping with torso elevated thing I instinctively did when I couldn’t sleep, is also a way to lessen that Issue”, and then connecting the dots to guess what happened?
Yeah I can sleep better with less breathing Issues, knowing how to prevent that problem now. Still need to tell my Doctor that in a few weeks, to find a better solution, because it is not a good Idea to sleep like that all the time, due to causing back issues in the long run.
Today I also found out that my stepdad indeed has been hit by the pandemic. Considering I live in the same house and absolutely none of the three of us gives a shit about cleaning the place (despite him pretending to care), it is likely me and my mom got it too. He is the only one that is sick, so lets hope it stays like that, because I would prefer us not getting damaged by it…
Well, how have all of your Summers been? I hope better than mine. ^^
Thank you for sharing Greg. Sorry to hear about your Cat, I hope you find some closure knowing she lived a happy life in your company. I hope you stay healthy(ish) during your medical “fun”.
I’ve been hesitant to share personal details about myself, but I’m feeling impulsive and since you asked about my summer, ready or not here I go:
This summer I got diagnosed with an Inflammatory Bowel Disease called Ulcerative Colitis, which as you can assume, is pretty gross. I’ll let you look up all that it does if you want to know more about it and keep details light. It has a spectrum of how bad it hits people, I’m in the moderate to severe category, so it prevents me from doing much outside of bed, but not so bad that I have to get my colon and bowels removed (at least so far, you have to fail a bunch of medication to get to that point). Lots of pain and fatigue (making my brain mushy, which is what I am blaming my boiler issues on), but fortunately this disability is marked by flares and remissions. I am in a flare now, but with the right medication (that I get to start today! Woo!) I will hopefully get to remission in the next couple of months. Remission can last years, and I should be back to living a normal life, but a flare will probably hit me again in the future. It’s a life long disease, and having been an “able-bodied” person, I’m still learning and adjusting to what it means to be disabled in our society. I don’t like pity, so please, no more than a “Damn that sucks.” It is what it is, and I want to be a source of amusement and happy vibes while I participate in these forums.
I’m hoping that with the new meds, I can at least get to a point where I can get to my beefier computer in another part of the house. I would like to stream a whole ton of Gregtech, and I attempted to get back into streaming the other week and then my health said “Try again later”. Here’s to hoping!
I’m very thankful for this mod, I’ve been on a long journey to get ADHD meds so I can do more productive things, so in the meantime I’ve been using this mod to help me through pain and get that sweet, sweet dopamine that is often elusive to people with ADHD.
Thank you Greg for working on things, I hope to be giving you inspiration for what to work on next as they pop into my head!
It is always better to let others know that diseases like this exist in the first place, especially if you look like a normal capable person on the outside. That is why I make most of what happens around me public in this Blog/Thread, to let people know that it is normal to have problems that may or may not be solvable.
And pity never helped anyone, actual help is what helps, and treating people like actual people and not like a thing that does the work for you. Objectifying sapient/sentient beings is a horrible thing society came up with…
Anyways, btw Takahata101, definitely great humor. I know him from “Hellsing Ultimate Abridged”, “Dragonball Z Abridged”, “The Unexpectables” and “The Ties that Bind”. I dont have the time to watch his Bar though, but apparently fun clips originate from that. XD
In fact, I’m very curious about how you can stay at home as an “otaku” without going to school or working? Did your parents object to anything?
I really hope this is just a troublesome asthma, not a terminal disease or a dangerous infectious disease like covid, but it seems impossible now.
Can gastric acid reflux be neutralized by taking calcium carbonate or aluminum hydroxide? Of course, if it is not too much gastric acid but the problem of cardia, the effect may not be good. In addition, lying down will aggravate gastric acid reflux, so it is better not to lie down outside the sleeping time. Of course, if it is due to the inhaler, there is no good way.
Maybe watching some chubbyemu videos can help you.
For the death of the cat, this is really sad news. Although our family has never had any other pets except goldfish, I can understand this feeling. Maybe you can add a easter egg to commemorate it.
This summer is really bloody hot. I hope there won’t be forest fires there.
I really hope that some things in gt6 can be improved as soon as possible.
I think the term you’re looking for it NEET, Not in Education, Employment, or Training. Otaku just means nerd in japanese.
Funny thing about that, despite not having a Job, I am the person with the highest income, because social welfare screwed over my mom for no damn reason, and retirement doesn’t give much money to my stepdad, while I officially count as an independent person and therefore get the full amount of welfare money.
As to them not objecting to it, go try to get a Job, living in one of the smallest places in Germany, while unable to use a Car due to light sensitivity, and being connected with the shittiest and most expensive public transport network in all of Germany. (I am NOT exaggerating! The Bus Tickets cost twice as much as everywhere else, and you cant get to any place in time)
And that while not having any “qualifications” for a proper Home Office Job. Yes I could go Freelance Programmer, however I hate dealing with other peoples Code, and am not good at following orders properly (despite very much trying to do everything properly).
I really don’t like being yelled at for making genuine mistakes, nor would I want to be a detriment to whoever hires me, so I do stay away from regular Jobs.
I do have Asthma since I was a child for sure, I always choked whenever someone nearby used Hair Spray or Deodorant Spray.
Yeah I think some medicine like that exists too, but I will have to consult my Doctor for a professional opinion on what exactly to take.
It is not a problem of the amount of acid, the problem is that a very small amount of it leaks into my throat. I already took a Medicine that is “Sodiumalginate + Potassiumhydrogencarbonate” (creates a sort of barrier), which is how I found out that I have this problem in the first place, because it cured more Issues than it was supposed to.
I did sleep with my upper body at an angle for the past few days and it really helped a lot with the whole acid Issue. But it still is uncomfortable for my back though, no matter how much I rearrange all the blankets to get the angles right.
And the Inhaler is not the cause of the Issues with my Throat, yes I am very aware that it COULD cause Issues like inflammation, but it did not yet and I took that new stuff for 65 days already, and the old stuff for years and it didnt cause that.
There is no terminal diseases that I am aware of having. Aside from the whole pandemic thing, which I might have been hit by too, because I did start sneezing occasionally (as opposed to the normal coughing due to gunked up throat), though that could have been caused by the Temperature drop too, so I am not sure. Still feeling fine however.
Did I mention that I am glad we have mostly free Healthcare here in Germany? Imagine how much these many tiny Issues would cost me to fix in a third world country like the US…
I’m glad this thread got updated, that was a very interesting read. I’m not in the right state to respond to it, just read it.
Sounds like you need one of those beds that you can adjust the angle of. They have hand crank ones, not just electric, obviously manually breaks much less often but it is a lot more work when you need to adjust it.
Yuuuuuuup.
Because I was curious about it being in the land of not-free-healthcare (Unless you’re on Medicaid like me, thank god), I looked it up. Antiacids run at about $15 a bottle, but a “month supply inhaler” goes for $250-$300 without insurance. I’m sure you can all form your opinions on that.
I’m gonna check the purchase cost of a 3 Inhaler Pack, each with 30 doses, so 90 doses total, with one dose a day being my prescription… 10 Eurobux total. Yeah not kidding, that is all I had to pay for it, not 30 bux, just 10 bux.
Edit: And to make it all the more insulting, free delivery ONTOP OF THAT!
Also if I did have a Job, insurance would cost me 100-200 bux a month. So still less than the Inhaler in the US. (especially with the euro being worth as much as the dollar as of lately…)
Not a doctor, but I think the usual medicine for this disease is omeprazol. Also I’ve heard physicians say not to eat right before lying down - I don’t remember if it was supposed to be one or two hours.
~Max
Yeah, the thing with not eating right before sleeping i already do, unless ofcourse Water counts, because I do drink Water so that I don’t dehydrate overnight, which at least in Summer can happen due to the heat.
I’m so glad that it gets colder again… until in Winter I am forced to have an electric air heater blow into my face at night so that I dont end up choking to death on the cold air. Air Temperature Sensitivity sucks, especially when it gets more sensitive while I am sleeping…
Summer: Wakes up at night because OVERWHELMING HEAT
Winter: Wakes up at night because OVERWHELMING COLD
Gee, something feels oddly similar about those too
