Windows, the operating System. Or are you actually a competent person that uses Linux? Or are you an Apple person that throws money out the Window?
Money out the window! Money out the window!
Uh fuck, do you people even have shortcuts? I know Apple is always a bit backwards when it comes to software. Can you even type multiple commands into a Shortcut? Oh geez, now I need to look up that shit. XD
Hehe itās an old mid-2012 macbook. I do have a proper gaming PC that runs windows, Iāve just been bedridden for the past couple of months, so at the moment I canāt access it. Once I am better, I plan on streaming Gregtech exclusively since itās been my latest obsession.
Phew, I might be able to find something Windozey that works then, because I honestly have no fucking clue where the .minecraft is even located on Apple Devicesā¦
To create one shortcut you have to pay ONLY 0,99$.
What a bargain, compared to the Monitor Stands that cost like what? a thousand bucks and arenāt even rotateable?
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/
Does this help?
does that contain your saves Folder?
Yes it contains the saves, configs, etc.
Okay now that we know that the location we need is ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves/
we can try finding a solution for the apple variant, even though I have no fucking clue where to properly start⦠This all may take a while. Iām gonna convert this to a Support Thread so it wont be randomly forgotten about!
@Sparrowghoul We probably already got all information we need, apart from maybe where the Launcher is located so we can actually launch the Minecraft Launcher at the end of the Backup
You could write a simple bash script for this thing. Apple machines should have it preinstalled.
What launcher are you using?
I appreciate it! The ~ might be an apple shortcut for user, so it might be users/me/library/application support/minecraft/saves
Whatever the normal minecraft launcher is.
Oh, why not the MultiMC? The default launcher sucks so hard thatās unimaginable.
Maybe add FTBLib? It has a config file you can setup backups. It announces them in game.
If it is as easy as writing a bash script, then I can do that, but I would still need to know how to ālaunchā the Launcher from a bash script.
Iāll look into it.
FTBLib and Aroma Backup are the two most popular ones (Aroma has more options and configurability).
MultiMC and itās better fork PolyMC let you run pre-launch (and post-shutdown) commands where you can make a backup too.
(Vanilla launcher sucks horribly)
