When I was drawing the texture I found that it was hard to distinguish the details when I multilayered the darker colors to greyscale, so I used an overlay file like dust_OVERLAY.png to overlay a translucent color and it actually worked fine.
But this is what happens when I hold the item in my hand, so can this be fixed?
I might too late about this,but seem like falsetweaks mod help fixed this problem
I kind of have same problem on this one too when I tried made some resources
basically every overlay , transparent color will render the actual color over the texture itself.
Edit: well,it didn’t fixed all,just only when you held them,it still had the same problem when dropped items or block texture
