Today's lesson in why your crucible isn't making steel

Throwing in 16 iron ingots for some sweet steelmaking, but it’s all just coming out wrought iron? That’s because the air that your pumping in needs “space” in the crucible as well, try 15 instead. And no, blowing on it doesn’t help.

Do not forget to leave space for Air!

You know it would be nice if IT WAS ACTUALLY A MANUAL

I miss it so hard. To make mistakes and learn is fun, but do nothing because you just don’t know you can do something isn’t.

I make steel “one nugget at a time”.

I have a dropper full of nuggets over a slow burning box setup, and redstone to drop another nugget when the temp hits 2050. I have an ingot mold attached to the same redstone.

The mold won’t work until all 9 nuggets are turned to steel. The slow burning gives the early game engine time to work.

Seemed pretty reliable.

Adding on to my original setup before chromium (using bronze everything), making a 4 iron into steel worked if I set the shut off temp to 2400K. 4 a pop.
