In my game, the water has inexplicably turned into seawater. How can I fix this issue?
Are you in an ocean biome?
Yes.
Initially, the water in the original version of my game was normal, but it inexplicably transformed into seawater.
In GT6, ocean biomes are full of salt water. It floodfills areas unlike regular water, and it will convert normal water into salt water as part of world generation.
Did you add GT6 to an existing save?
Initially, the game world was created using GT5, and during the course of playing, I transitioned to GT6. Throughout this period, the water remained regular freshwater. However, unexpectedly during gameplay, the water transformed into seawater, leading to substantial performance issues, such as high lag. Although I possess a backup save of the game state, I am worried that this problem could manifest repeatedly.
Furthermore, while playing the game, I took steps to adjust certain settings in the configuration files to prevent issues. In the file “worldgenerationnew.cfg” specifically tailored for GT6, I made sure that the generation of both seawater and river water was turned off. In the “gregtech.cfg” file, I modified the setting “OceanBlocksFlowOutFar” to “false”, intending to restrict the spread of seawater blocks. Despite this, I did not alter the setting “OceanBlocksSpreadToAir”, which remains at “true”. I am uncertain if the retention of “OceanBlocksSpreadToAir” at “true” is contributing to the unexpected conversion of water into seawater that I’m experiencing.
GT6 is a full overhaul mod, and only likely to be safe with a new world.
The lag you experience is the ocean water being converted in a giant floodfill from regular water to salt water. This happens in a normal GT6 world on occasion where ocean biomes meets a regular biome, and normally settles down quickly.
I can’t say about these config settings. Only that the conversion to salt water is normal in a GT6 world.
OK,thank you,Is there a way to disable the conversion from regular water to seawater?
