Tungsten carbide extruder requires 2048hu/t for graphite rod. (512 in recipe). Titanium working well at 512.
Sugilite vanishes in crucible at melting point(1644k).

The higher Tier Extruder requires 4 times more input to run at twice the speed. That is normal for pretty much all Machines if their Tier is higher than that of the Recipe.
And most Gemstones do vanish when smelted, as melting is not the correct way of dealing with Gems.
