I will just quickly put that here after I asked overmind to elaborate:

[19:01:57] o​verminddl1{EDIT}: The process of adding the dependency properly is literally just adding implementation "com.gregoriust.gregtech:gregtech_1.7.10:6-SNAPSHOT:dev" same as any other dep, there’s nothing special to it at all

Thanks! Turns out in eclipse’s case, the “refreshing workspace” part includes the ./gradlew eclipse command, finally figured out that this is what actually adds the jar to the referenced libraries and links the SRC too.
