Hello fine people of this forum,
I want to play GregTech 6 in combination with other mods to make the gameplay more diverse and created this modpack: Mindcraft
But on second thought, Singleplayer is boring! So I invite anyone that wants to participate to join the server and make it lively. The Modpack by itself is not heavily customized or tweaked and it does not contain any mods that customize Mob stats or behavior (Block breaking, Infernal Mobs etc.), such that it makes the game significantly more difficult. It is meant to be beginner friendly (Although the default difficulty is hard!).
Server IP: 212.227.234.210:25500 (No domain associated with that IP, just a plain old IP)
(Server’s location is in the EU btw.)
About:
For the cry and the peace of your mind. With the main focus being on beautiful landscapes scattered with dungeons, with hard enemies, but useful loot. Progression is managed by GregTech 6 and its tweaks are the only ones that are used, no custom tweaks! Thaumcraft allows you to access powerful tools and armor, especially useful during mid-game. And Forestry and Railcraft for some automation possibilities. No CC, I don’t want to experience my job during gaming.
Precaution:
This modpack is very experimental and you are likely to experience bugs (or worse: crashes!). In this case, either send me some solution you find to that or write the original mod author directly. I’m just some guy who has thrown a bunch of stuff together and I’m not willing to reproduce some bug or testing out different configurations to fix anything!
The Server is shutdown after 2 months of inactivity! The files are kept, but I want to use the precious resources for my Bitcoin empire!
Installation:
It is created with PrismLauncher, so importing it there is the recommended way of installation.
Use the following URL (without + symbol) +https://origins-blog.com/files/uploads/Mindcraft.zip
Either download the .zip file directly or import it via URL.
Otherwise, open the .minecraft folder and the mods and config files are there.
Nope there is no whitelist on the server. I figured, there is Server Utilities installed, so any player can just claim their chunks if they fear griefing. And I believe that the people here are nice and not douches
But time will show if I can just accept the whole internet to join the server
Fast leaf decay is inside, because somehow the GT config only works for GT trees, maybe due to a collision with some other mod? Or maybe I’m dumb
And yes, it has a touch of kitchen sink, because I don’t want to purely play GT 6 and instead mix the gameplay a little. Maybe that makes things more interesting. My last game-through was pure GT6.
My fast leaf decay works with pretty much all trees, at least the vanilla ones and ones like the vanilla ones. You may need to use GT6 tools to cause that though.
Hm, I have completed the basic site tutorial, now I can upload files up to 64MB, but the zip file is way larger. It tells me to upload somewhere else and to post a link to it, but I’m not allowed to do that. Is there something that I can do about that?
Here a small update of my progression on the server, even though I’m not playing like a hardcore gamer, things slowly move and grow Here is the very first crucible setup on the server:
I joined a while ago and just went exploring, looking around and I found a GT dungeon. I am probably not going to play here as I do not have that much time. The dungeon is at x=87 z=472. I did not claim the chunks there so you can go there if you want. Perhaps it could be a public workshop?
How many people played there so far? Also perhaps at what times? I live in central europe and if I would have time to play it would be between 12:00 and 23:00 UTC. Maybe if someone would want to make a team and make a base in the GT dungeon then I might join once in a while and help out with something. I would like to play in a team of sorts but I cant guarantee I would help that much.
Also it might be quite fun to try to build a base with multiple people but without much coordination, as it would be basically a team of strangers. Every once in a while someone will join for a while and build something new, upgrade something etc… The base will start growing and getting more and more messy as there wouldnt be any real plan how to build it, what to build, just random people doing random work here and there. At some point it might grow so complex and messy that no one knows where everything is, how it works…
I hopped on the server for a bit to look around, thanks for having me!
I was really impressed with whatever graphical mods this has installed. The FPS was really fluid, and the details on plants and leaves were much better than what I have come to expect in 1.7.10! I’m going to be looking into those myself, so thanks for the recommendation.
The extra variety of animals was alot of fun. Birds and rabbits made the forests come alive.
Food and monsters are on very easy mode. Nothing like my packs of pain and misery. That certainly allows you to focus on GT6.
I think this would certainly be a great starter modpack for GT6 people. Very casual, very pretty, and a gracious host that also uses Emacs. Sounds like he has plenty of room on the server for other casual players.
I wish you much success! I’ll stop in again for another tour later.
