Item Pipes' Stepsize

What does it mean?

By the way, what’s your favorite everyday material for item pipes?

Brass. I rarely go for better.

I think stepsize is the pathfinding cost?

Stepsize is the distance for the items to travel, the higher the value, the longer the distance. So those restriction pipes that have a crazy high stepsize just increase the distance.

I like the black bronze pipes because of the nice purple color you get.

I pulled up an IRC conversation about stepsize. Greg said it’s the pathfinding penalty, that the larger the stepsize the later the items are moved.

That’s another good way of putting it!

It is not a Time thing, its just an Order thing. Why do you people say “later” even though its all the SAME time? It exists just so you can route things easier by making certain paths LOOK like they are longer than they actually are.

Yes, quantum pipe routing. Clear as day!

Same as RP2’s routing, lol.
