Great fixer Mod which helped me a lot. (Archaic Fix)

Hey guys,

in the last few months been playing GT6 whenever i felt like it. In recent times after a Java update i have been experiencing very bad memory leaks in Minecraft, after like 20min of gameplay i always had to restart Minecraft. Maybe its also due to windows 11 weirdness? My Fedora Desktop PC doesn’t have this issue. Anyways there is a great mod which COMPLETELY solved this issue for me i don’t know how it works it’s like black magic. Maybe it helps someone else out there.

Yeah archaicfix is pretty great. Like fastcraft but far less buggy.

I actually use this for my personal optimised version of Devouring Darkness! It took me a lot of debugging and headaches, but it made Devouring Darkness playable on my aging laptop.

Let me get out my notes…

Pictures of what? My \mods folder?

In terms of gameplay
the sounds are better (except when I turn them off),
DynamicSurroundings might make the game look better (I don’t remember),
I have Real Time Clock bound to a hotkey,
WorldEdit is for my testing world,
SmoothFont makes fonts look… well, smoother,
one of my optimisation mods will try to “catch” crashes and so instead of the game closing you go back to the title screen (wonderful mod)

Also, my FPS is still a bit choppy and my laptop really does struggle to run it. I get <60FPS at 2 render distance, no smooth lighting, etc. I believe it hovers around 20-30FPS. I really need to upgrade!

Threaded chunk update/loading, which is the main feature that improves stuttering, has been removed from this mod in favor of Angelica. Just posting in case anyone comes across this thread like I did.
