What is it, why is it there, what is it for? Also, what does “can handle magic” mean on pipes and drums made from magic metals? What magical liquids/gases can they transfer?

That stuff is an entirely different system completely unrelated to Fluids.

I wanted to chime in on gaeous essentia aspects, they’re not actually craftable and doen’t have any uses as of now, correct? There’s no real way to craft or use it for anything, and I can’t find any information about it in the changelogs. They could probably be used with minetweaker/MTutils but as I remember you personally aren’t interested in those, so it’s sort of a prototype for a thaumcraft compatibility module that didn’t go anywhere specific?

Yeah those even need special crafting recipe classes so you cant MineTweak them in
