I’ve noticed that aside from the basic versions of gregtech, there are api and dev versions available. How are they different from the basic version of mod? Do they work equally in game? Why would I need to use them?

As an End User you do NOT use them, it is that simple. Mod Devs know what to do with them, so I don’t wanna explain the Details in length. ^^

In short though, api is a pure API setup for depending on the public API for mod authors. dev is like api but it’s a full dev-environment runnable version. Neither are useful for end users at all. ^.^
