Development of detailed production chains

Hi.

Why aren’t all the chains in gregtech 6 the same as aluminum production? I understand that such long chains are quite difficult and time-consuming to code. But the level of detail is just completely different :frowning:

I really wish all production chains were as detailed as aluminum.

For comparison, aluminum production:

vs. fuel production:

I do not think that many other recipes should be made the same, IMO complexity should instead be sought by the introduction of unique mechanics instead of just more long recipe chains in standard machines, which have little nuance or distinction from eachother, and often can’t even be easily told apart if you were to just observe the structure instead of specific items/machines. Also it just gets a bit untenable when you do it for so many recipes, the only reason why games like GTNH can get away with it is due to (being very grindy, and) Applied Energistics, which completely transforms gameplay in a way which I personally do not like very much.

Because most other things either dont have such complicated chains for production in real life, or are not used commonly enough to warrant using a dedicated complicated Recipe.

If we take the same oil, even Wikipedia offers a more complex process of oil refining - Wikipedia Petroleum refining processes - Wikipedia

In real production, everything is even more complicated.

In any case, thanks for developing such a mod. It is interesting to play

have you heard of supersymmetry, its a Modpack using a fork of GT5 for 1.12. the dev team is full of chemists who make long and complicated chains based on real life
