Burning Boxes' Fire Hazard

I had a shelf that was placed behind the burning box, and it got fire and was burnt with my extrusion dies despite it was obstructed from the heater :coffin:

So, how does this mechanic work exactly? Will a flammable block eventually catch fire no matter how it’s obstructed from the box, if it’s in the hazardous radius and it has sides that are adjacent to air within the radius?

Magenta concrete indicates a 3 m radius of the burning box.

Are adjacent to the hazardous zone blocks safe? Won’t they catch fire because they are exposed to air within the radius?

And does the radius indicate an actual sphere like on the pic or a simple cube?

I’ve had things catch fire through walls. I think it’s a 5^3 square centered on the burning box.

If it’s a 5^3 square, then how that shelf caught fire?

I believe it’s a 7x7x7 cube.

Also, is it intended that flammable items like coal bricks don’t catch fire when placed?

7^3 sounds right.

It just tries to place a Fire Block in that cube-ish radius, if there is a would-be-adjacent flammable Block next to it.

How’s the radius determined? If it states 3 m, does it include the burning box itself, thus making a 5^3 cube, or not, making a 7^3 cube?

It’s 7x5x7, so both of your options are wrong :stuck_out_tongue:
