I tried making annealed copper in the smelter and it works just fine except it is unexpectedly very slow (takes multiple seconds per ingot in a 2048HU/t powered smelter) I looked at the recipe and did the math and it should take 2.6 game ticks to produce an ingot, I figure it is bottlenecked by the size of the recipe being 0.006 units, would you consider allowing the smelter to produce recipes in parallel like other machines ?
Wait the Smelter doesn’t do that already? Gonna fix it if that is the case.
I made an error in my calculation the actual number is 18 game ticks and 9 game ticks in the maxed out scenario (4096HU/t) but it is still severely underperforming, however if it were able to produce 16 recipes in parallel that would actually solve the problem because then it would be able to produce 1 unit in 9 game ticks exactly. I checked my tps as well it’s sitting pretty at 22 so I don’t think it’s already doing recipes in parallel.
And fixed, added 8 16 32 and 64 Parallel Processing to the Tiers of it.
Hurray for being able to process annealed copper using more than 256HU/t!
