What’s the purpose of simple wax, if it doesn’t fireproof blocks? I thought the wax foil would do the thing, but it doesn’t. Do I miss something or its existence is meaningful as mine? It can’t even be made into candles, because there are none.

Yeah Wax has barely any uses, you could make Pills with it though. That or GT6 Wax Capsule-Cell-Containers to store Fluids that aren’t too Hot.
As for Candles, yes needs other Mods like Pam’s Harvestcraft or Forestry.
