I guess I haven’t followed the development of this game that much since it came as more than a pleasant surprise that Mechaenetia is being done in Rust. I remember how exciting it was to learn about this language, even though I’m sorta a layman in programming stuffs. The promises this lang gives are something out of this world, almost a complete paradigm shift in code stability and optimization. And I guess I haven’t expected less tasteful choice from our mostly benevolent creator. I played Veloren (cubeworld clone done in Rust) and it felt like my PC has finally been able to not choke on constant runtime fuck-overs as in Minecraft. I can almost imagine people who have no idea about coding trying out the earliest build of Mechaenetia and wondering how the hell is it so resource efficient and fast
