Used to use it to dig up chromite cheaply in the early days, should work fine. I can only imagine you’ve got something screwy with your configs. I don’t play with galacticraft or that version of backpacks so I can’t confirm it works with those, but I haven’t heard anyone complain using galacticraft and thaumcraft wands.
Funnily your twighlightforest is a higher version than mine as I’m on 2.4.3, I can’t find a link to 2.5.23 anywhere?
