How does overclocking with penalty work? It is like 4x power and 0.5x time then 16x power and 0.25x time and so on? And if it without penalty does this mean than X times basic power and 1/X of time?
For example, I have a machine that is running a 16 GU/t recipe for 16 minutes.
As I think if this machine is getting 256 GU/t, the recipe will last for 4 minutes if this machine has penalty(shredder), and without that overclocking penalty(like a smelter) the recipe will last for 1 minute.
Each overclock is x4 Voltage and /2 Duration, so it doubles it each time.
The Overclock is applied by Machine Tier difference compared to the Recipe, not by the actual Input. You can dump 4 times the power into an LV Machine and get 4 times the speed without Overclocking but as soon as you run an LV Recipe in an MV Machine the overclocking applies.
And a question about Fusion reactor. Does it emit 8192 EU/t total or 8192 through each output plug?
Total, the Output Plug Count doesn’t matter.
