Now users without avatar in forums will not display default avatar with initial letters?

Why don’t users who don’t add avatars now display default acronyms as before? Is it a bug?

Can confirm, desktop side is fine while the mobile side shows a broken link icon.

It was a gravatar cdn failure, not my cause, already fixed.
