Can't fill iron bucket from river source

As the title suggests, can use a wooden bucket with no problems but iron buckets don’t interact. Not sure if this is a bug or intentional?

Ah yeah , Iron Buckets… I just wasn’t able to get them to work properly even after looking at other Bucket related mods.

What I’ve generally seen is that mods just listen to the right click hook and then remove bucket and add their own iron bucket filled with fluid instead.
