Energy in GT6 is transported in packets. The Voltage is the size of packet while the Amperage is the number of packets per tick. You may not transfer more packets per tick than the Amperage rating, and each packet may not exceed the Voltage rating.
While there isn’t something like Ohm’s Law, AFAIK the Cable Loss is computed per packet, so multiple packets (higher Amperage) means more loss and transforming to higher Voltage means less loss.
